Riquewihr, France

Our first night was supposed to be in Colmar, France, but Nick was stuck on a work trip in Italy. His flight was delayed and we were forced to cancel our AirBNB (with no refund) and start our trip a day late. We drove to a town just outside of Colmar called Riquewihr, and it was like stepping right into Beauty and the Beast!! We will definitely be back to explore this area of Europe.

This whole town was incredible! Nestled back in miles of vineyards, the drive there was breathtaking. The city was so colorful and quaint.

We found a beautiful little fabric shop and bought a special table cloth for a special someone. I got to learn some new French vocabulary from the sweet old shop owner. I love all the small businesses in Europe.

We had a really wonderful first stop on our road trip. I can’t wait to go back and actually stay the night and see more of this area. Colmar, France (just around the corner) was said to the setting inspiration for the Beauty and the Beast and I’d love to see the water fountain and book store! Another day I suppose.

Into Switzerland

We stopped next at the Bern, Switzerland temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and arrived in the evening at our AirBNB at the base of the Swiss Alps. Click below to read more!
